Bay Area Butterfly Festival
The Bay Area Butterfly Festival returns to Mare Island on Sunday, June 1, 2025, with a full day of hands-on activities, live entertainment, environmental education, and local creativity — all focused on protecting pollinators and native habitats.
Open to the public and free to attend, this joyful event brings together families, educators, artists, and conservationists to raise awareness about the plight of monarch butterflies and other essential pollinators — and how native plants play a vital role in supporting them.

The Bay Area Butterfly Festival is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about monarch butterfly conservation, native plant restoration, and pollinator health. Hosted in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, the festival brings together environmental leaders, local makers, educators, and families for an inspiring day of connection, creativity, and action.
