Oh, hello August!

Can you believe how fast summer has flown by? Between popsicles, park days, and last-minute getaways, it feels like we blinked—and now back-to-school season is just around the corner. As the pace slows and routines return, we want to remind you that Napa Kids is here for it all!

We're two local moms who believe in building a community we're proud to raise our families in—one event, one story, and one connection at a time. Whether you're soaking up the last summer moments or gearing up for a fresh school year, we’ve got you covered with August family happenings, fun finds, and little things to make this fall special in the beautiful Napa Valley!

Your Back-to-School Survival Kit

What we have been loving for back to school!

  • We’re loving Quince for back-to-school! 🎒 Their backpacks and matching lunch boxes are made from recycled materials (yes, please ♻️), and the prices are seriously good. Don’t forget all the adorable back to school clothing as well! Save $20 on $100 when you refer a friend and offers for military members, first responders, nurses, or teachers.

  • We love STATE bags — they're seriously the it backpack. But let’s be real… we’re not about to splurge on something we know will be tossed on the blacktop and kicked around at recess 😅 That’s why we’re big fans of browsing the STATE Pre-Loved site. Same great style, gentler on your wallet and the planet. ♻️

  • With all the studies coming out about how harmful plastic can be, we’re doing our best to ditch it — though honestly, it’s way harder than it sounds! 😅

We decided to start small by swapping out our kids' lunchboxes. Enter WeeSprout — their stainless steel containers make packing healthy lunches easy and our kids can actually open them on their own 🙌 A win for us and the planet. 🌎 Use WELCOME10 for 10% off your first order.

  • We’re mad about books — especially the ones that make bedtime feel special 📚✨

Here are some of our favorite places to find inspiring reads for kids, including a few that help ease those back-to-school jitters:

  • Support your local bookstore at bookshop.org, your favorite bookstore will receive the full profit from your Bookshop.org purchases! Our favorites are Napa Bookmine and Wild Plum Books!

After School Enrichment Programs

Last but not least, looking for ways to keep your kids engaged after the school day ends? We’ve put together a guide to local after school programs all in one place at Napa Kids.

The Napa Valley Education Foundation is a hidden gem or maybe it’s always been right under our nose! Did you know they offer musical instrument rentals for students, including free rentals for those who qualify? From strings to winds, it’s a wonderful resource for budding musicians in our community.

We hope your family enjoys every last bit of summer, and that Napa Kids brings a little ease (and maybe a little fun!) to the fall routine.

Thank you, as always, for being part of our growing community. 💛
